What is NPPES?
The NPPES database is the official CMS repository for National Provider Identifier (NPI) data. NPIs are unique 10-digit identifiers for healthcare providers under HIPAA.

Healthcare Professionals Enter NPIs During Onboarding
When healthcare professionals register or update their profiles, they’re prompted to enter their NPI. Juno validates it against NPPES, confirming credentials and retrieving official name and status.

Once validated, NPI information is available across reporting features, enabling automated Sunshine Act compliance reports and accurate provider identification.
